When a man found a Waffle House’s only employee asleep, he decided to make his meal himself.
Alex Bowen was returning from a night out when he visited the South Carolina Waffle House to satisfy an early-morning breakfast craving.
“It was around 3 a.m. I was pretty inebriated,” Bowen told ABC News.
Bowen searched the restaurant for an employee, but the restaurant appeared to be empty.
“That’s when I got hot on the grill with a Texas bacon cheesesteak melt,” Bowen told ABC News.
Bowen recorded his Waffle House shift with a series of selfies.
He said that while he was cooking, he noticed the Waffle House employee sleeping. He said the restaurant cook “didn’t wake up the entire time.”
Bowen may have earned himself a job offer, though.
“We are reviewing this incident and will take appropriate disciplinary action. In a related note, obviously Alex has some cooking skills, and we’d like to talk to him about a job since we may have something for him.”
